If DBG does not want 3rd Party Mods, then they need to address this ASAP. If DBG does want 3rd Party Mods, the it should start a formal Mod program like other games that embrace and facilitate Mods in game. And that sends the message that PS2 is no longer a DBG game but instead a game requiring the core DBG download and then be upgraded with 3rd Party Mods. DBG cannot afford to ignore this issue (even if their motivation is that they don't want to officially taint their game with Overlays), because this issue is demonstrating the disconnect between the wants of DBG and its players, and it's firmly opening the door for 3rd Party Mods to take up residence in PS2. If they *cannot* ban Overlays, then they should add their own comparable Overlays into the game. That is just a sign of a Game Company that is failing to support its players: 3rd Party Modders stepping in and changing the game.Įither DBG should ban the use of Overlays, or they should add their own comparable Overlays into the game. So people who are using outside-the-game mods are improving their performance.ĭBG should not allow their game to be compromised by players needing allowed 3rd Party Mods to maximize their performance. Consensus is that using Overlays improves performance. ”But if you stick a piece of tape on your monitor it isn't cheating?ĭBG is apparently allowing people to use (at least some) Overlays. ↑ “ If you add a program to help you aim, it is in my opinion a cheat. If you add a program to help you aim, it is in my opinion a cheat. ”Blue tac or a dot on your screen is not a third party program to help you aim.Īccessories are not third party programs to help you aim. Is all this whining about vehicle 3PV shooting? Because frankly the only vehicle I've seen of it in ANY use is the Lightning because the camera angle sucks balls for the rest. If you had a 4 monitor, bevelless display setup, you'd even have one naturally.įFS everything but vehicle 3PV has a goddamn center dot anyways. It's just a marker showing you where the center of your screen is. Meanwhile overlays are used for VOIP chat programs and Recursion stat tracker (which also has it's own XHair overlay feature) They can't very well do much about it, and it's not cheating. There are accessories for sale that you can stick to your monitor for a cleaner, almost overlay quality center dot. ↑ “ blue tac dot on your screen does the same thing. PS2 Devs need to focus on making the game for players, and making sure that players don't need to use legal 3rd Party mods to get to a level playing field to compete in the game. Not implementing (directly inside the game) versions of the allowed 3rd Party Mods is ridiculous. Not even a top notch ingame tutorial can make this game easy to get into, unless that tutorial comes with FAQs on how to install legal 3rd Party Mods and links to 3rd Party resources like Oracle of Death.Īs has been said, not implementing multiple crosshair options (for ALL units) in this game is ridiculous. And now we're adding the need to harness 3rd Party mods to access optimum gameplay. Bloated with career bugs that have obscure workarounds. Already bogged down by misinformation, outdated information, and gems of info tied into obscure 3rd party resources. PS2 is already a NIGHTMARE of non-intuitive, cryptic, and extensive steps to optimum gameplay. If they'd taken care of business on the issue, then we wouldn't see this issue still smoldering. And too lazy to implement those mods directly into the game. Too stubborn to concede that their game is inferior in Player's eyes without the use of 3rd Party Tools. More they can't bloody police them so have taken the path of least resistance! ”The Devs took the lazy and stubborn route. The Devs did not make a game they wanted overlays in. ****, you can even interact with the recursion overlay using the game cursor (it's really just a cursor style override while PS2 is active app, and windows cursor is visible, and the overlay takes the click instead of PS2 because it's layered in front of the game) They're almost practically officially supported. if it's achieved via a means that something else not allowed could be done, then no, it's not allowed.Įasy answer is use the Recursion one, seeing as they've gone out of their way to make sure Recursion guys both follow rules and have the tools they need. So I suppose WHICH overlay you use does matter then. cause they can't always tell what you're doing so it's just not allowed. ”Ok, well if you're running something in DX, yeah. If it uses direct X you get banned that is still in the game for catching hacker. But some of the gaming crosshairs programers they banned people for. ↑ “ Yes teamspeak has always been allowed.
